Just went for a sunny & snowy walk in the hills. Caught the mailman (she was not a man) and got myself some fresh new videos. Wake UP!, Tough Stuff and of course Truth II. Brewed some coffee and about to watch Truth II first (obviously.)
If I had a teleportation device I would teleport all of you guys here... We would have a big party/video session. Then after we'd all go skiing because today is fuckin' beautiful outside.
I'm also FINALLY watching Avatar tonight. What a Wednesday.

My take:
Not the Truth at all. But worth checking out. It wore me out a bit by the end.
Some very impressive tricks throughout. Some bad music choices. Some bad "editing" aka jump cuts to fit the music.
Frankie and Shima had my favorite tricks. Really though, there are highlights throughout the whole video.
If Beau Cottington had made the video it would have been incredible. But something about the music, the editing and the flow of it just didn't work out for me. Like how Beau Cottington could make really serious videos and make them work... But for some reason it didn't work as much with this video. But who am I? I'm starting to think that I'm just not a "rollerblader" anymore and more of a... rollerblader? ha ha.
Those new black carbons look fuckin' awesome.

I love freeskating. Love the way it sounds and looks. But when I've tried to use it socially it always reverts back to rollerblading. It's pretty much the standard.
The problem with rollerblading is the "blade" part is what makes it sound so off.
Imagine if ice skates were called ice blades?
It'll work itself out after the great enlightenment.

yup definitely some highlights, Montre's last tricks were ridiculous. Seemed like Colin Kelso was trying to win Sundance or something with his section, but to each his own I guess.

It's been a couple months now and I think I've watched the video twice... maybe three times? It's a good one to watch while having beers with friends but something about it doesn't click when I watch it solo. Music and flow for sure.
Speaking of which I'm downsizing my video collection this Spring and Summer. I'll have a big sale at Pop Contest for anyone who's interested.

CK is just trying to hard and it is unbearable to watch. Was not much of a fan of most of the music. SK section I thought was probably one of the best, and an honorable mention must be given to Montre for that crazy TTS. Lots of really good skating, but the way it was presented kind of downplayed how good it was. Its funny because with the exception of a couple of the people who had sections most of the people in video are some of my favorite skaters and the video was just blah! I think it is worth checking out though!
